PureMuze believes you deserve to understand exactly what you may be prescribed. This disclosure explains compounded medications in plain language.
What “compounded” means
A compounded medication is prepared by a licensed pharmacy for an individual patient based on a provider's prescription. Compounding is legal and longstanding, typically under the 503A pathway.
Compounded vs. branded
Branded medications (such as Wegovy or Zepbound) are FDA-approved and manufactured by their makers. Compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide is prepared by a pharmacy. Your provider will discuss which option is appropriate for you, including any branded fallback.
What we will never claim
- We will never tell you a compounded drug is “the same as” an FDA-approved one.
- We will never imply FDA approval of a compounded product.
- We will never use brand-drug clinical-trial data to market a compounded product.
Your decision
You can ask questions at any time and decline or stop treatment. A full refund is available before your prescription is sent to the pharmacy.
